Welcome back, Mar!

I’ve been a little absent on the Mini Tales, but the good news is that I have a lot of life updates that are great! In short, school is still going strong, still working as a nurse full time, I moved into my very own apartment (yay!), and I am still blessed with the most amazing friends and family, so….. there you have it!

Today, I want to give you a small smile that I got to experience yesterday at work. As most of you know, I work in a children’s hospital, so everything is basically focused on our tiny superheroes! I was standing at our concierge desk and I overheard the most amazing exchange.

Concierge: “Good morning, what are you both here for today?”
Mom: “My daughter is having surgery so we are here for pre-surgical testing.”
Daughter: “AND I BROUGHT MY CHEETAH” (she produces a stuffed cheetah)
Concierge: “WOW! I have to get you all checked in. What is your cheetah’s name?”
Daughter: “Ummmmm.”
Concierge: “I just need a first name….”
Daughter: “Sweet”
Concierge: “Okay, Sweet. And what is cheetah’s last name?”
Daughter: “Heart”
Concierge: “What a cute name! And now we have to take Sweet Heart’s photo for her badge. Can you hold her up?”
Daughter: “Yeah! Should I take off her mask?” (yes, the cheetah was wearing a mask)
Concierge: “If you want, that’s fine!”

This amazing woman behind the desk then took photos of both mom and daughter and wished her good luck on her surgery. It was absolutely adorable. She showed everyone standing at the desk (myself included), the cute picture that she took of Sweet Heart the Masked Cheetah, and the young lady was eating it up. I can do nothing but smile when I think of it.

So, a quick Mini Tale to whet your palette for more to come! Have a lovely day and try to make someone smile today!
