Not necessarily a revelation.
Recently the majority of my reading has had to do with studying. Most anything really. I’ve been studying on CRBNE, ICS and NIMS protocols and I’ve also been putting together a study guide for myself for the Critical Care RN Certification test. My prime directives recently have been to focus on the uptake of knowledge! (mini sidebar: there is nothing wrong with that, at all!)
Over the weekend, I flew down to North Carolina for a friend’s wedding and I left all my notes and textbooks at home. I tore through this tome of a novel I’ve been mostly ignoring in order to study. It felt so good to read for joy! I’ve always been a voracious reader even when I was a kid, and this weekend sort of allowed me to find a joy that I had been missing out on recently… and it felt amazing.

This was one of my favorite spots to read at. It is a tiny hallway in the heart of Downtown New Bern and during the day, the church across the street would ring their bells hourly. A lovely breeze flows through and sometimes the spray from the fountain would create a lovely mist.
I guess this short little post is here to remind you that finding your joy, even in small doses is so very important.
Yay! I finished two books yesterday and started the Game of Thrones series. Reading IS fun!!!
